What's SecurityScanner for?
SecurityScanner is a Windows utility for scanning IP Address ranges on a network. It uses a number of protocols such
as ARP, ICMP, HTTP, SNMP, WMI and ONVIF to retreive as much information about a device as possible.
Information such as the device make/model, vendor, serial number, security IP camera image snapshot and network
switch port assignment can all be retrieved.
These results can then be exported to a PDF or Excel file.

Why am I not getting any results?
When you first run SecurityScanner, it will try read your local IP and set a 24 bit IP range. Hit the "Set Range"
button on top left to toggle through your available IP ranges based on you local IPs. Then hit "Start Scan"
and results should appear.

How do I get camera images?
In most cases, you need to set login details on the settings form before images can be retrieved. ONVIF and HTTP are
used to retrieve these images. Only some brands are supported via HTTP (Axis, Sony, Hikvision, Samsung, Avigilon, Arecont),
and even in these brands, certain models may not be supported but the list is growing over time.
ONVIF also needs to be enabled on the cameras as often by default it is not.

How do I get network switch port information?
In order to show which port a device is physically plugged into and on what switch:
- SNMP V2c must be enabled on the switch.
- The SNMP Community must be correctly set in SecurityScanner's settings section.
- The switch management IP and other device IPs must be in the IP scan range.
Once these criteria are met, the "Switch IP and Port" column should populate. Note that some switches use different OIDs for the port information. Contact support with your switch make & model if issues.
